"Derridada is an experimental drone and noise band based in central Floridada, US. Combining elements of ambience, drone, noise, post rock, and minimalism, as well as performance art and an aesthetic borrowed from the Dadaists, poststructuralist theorists, and post punk movements of the late 70s and early 80s, Derridada is known to most for their widely publicized accidental performance at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, during which then program director Michael Siegfried, in a delusional panic after negotiations with the newly reunited No Doubt fell through only hours before air, was overheard by his assistants mumbling “der. … da, da…” (doubt… no, no…) in his native German as he wandered aimlessly back stage. Assuming Siegfried was referring to a potential replacement act, his assistants promptly booked the unknown experimental trio, who were ultimately pulled off stage after only 2 minutes of their Nelson Mandela tribute piece, 'Double Yoko'."
